Should it be at the same venue?
Should it be a fundraiser for another charity?
Should I let the Cheeky Fest community decide?
Should it be set up so we can pay performers & hire a venue?
How can I make it more financially sustainable for me / Cheeky?
Early in 2024, Alejandro offered 3 proposals to help me; I chose the cheapest (6 x £166 = £1000)
*I agreed to pay Jessie £50 to over transport. I thought it would be fair to pay the others as well - even though they'd agreed to play for free. I paid the other Acts £40 each. Part of my purpose for Cheeky Fest is to help artists, musicians & performers to support themselves; it's imperative to pay them.
Sponsor, anyone? Easter? Who’s coming?
Some of the people who performed at the 1st one would like to play at the 2nd; Jessie Morrell, Dead Bloodcells & Paradise Taxi. Should I include them or should it be a completely different show? I've been talking with a poet who expressed excitement about being involved. I connected with a musician on Threads for whom "making music is a form of therapy".
"I've been dealing with depression and anxiety on and off since I was a teenager. I discovered that writing songs and having a creative outlet really helped. I just liked writing songs for it's own sake, it never occurred to me to share them with anyone else. I did that for a few years and around the time of the pandemic I decided to try and record them and maybe release them. Maybe they could help someone else who is struggling."
Would you like to perform?
